250 Images of Peace Day Tofino 2009, by  Nigel Brooks Peer  http://bit.ly/3uvWdP

On Peace Day we celebrate our peaceful community and showcase Tofino as a unique Canadian community with a history of effective peaceful protest. As a nuclear-free zone and a Biosphere Reserve, Tofino is a wonderful Canadian example of a community dedicated to a peaceful lifestyle.

Another goal of the day is to increase the global awareness of Peace
processes, and to raise global consciousness of the importance of all people working for world peace. Peace begins within the self, the family and the community.  In Tofino we celebrate our effective peaceful protestors who used peaceful methods to bring about a cessation to the destruction of Clayoquot Sound by international logging companies.
